They teach us history, so we can know about our past and avoid mistakes in the future.

Ensinam matemática, nas operações de somar alegrias, dividir comida, multiplicar o amor e subtrair o ódio.

They teach us math, the operations of adding happiness, division of meals, multiplication of love and subtraction of hate.

Ensinam também a mais importante disciplina: a da linguagem.

Comunicar-se é humano e quanto mais entendemos nosso próprio idioma e conhecemos outros novos,

They also teach us the most important subject: language.

To communicate is to be human and the more we understand our own language and learn new ones,

aprendemos que o diálogo é a capacidade de aceitarmos as diferenças e construirmos um consenso.

We learn that dialog is the ability to accept differences and build consensus.
