We’ve returned, with no overturn! Ready to resume our blog in the first month of the year, which comes with lots of celebrations: our 7-month anniversary, Angela’s birthday and São Paulo’s 462nd anniversary!

So, off we go! Angela, was born and raised in a nice neighborhood in São Paulo, named Perdizes. It literally means ‘quails’ … wonder if there were lots of them four centuries ago…

Então, vamos lá! Angela, paulista paulistana, nasceu no bairro de Perdizes. Será que havia muitas perdizes na região?

Pertinho dali, tem o Pacaembu, que em tupi-guarani significa “terras alagadas” ou descanso para as tribos indígenas. Tem também um belo estádio municipal:

Nearby, we go into another neighborhood, called Pacaembu. The indigenous name means “flooded lands” or a restful area for local tribes. The area has the beautiful municipal stadium:

E, vamos para outro bairro: Pinheiros, onde a Maria foi criada.

Let’s go to another cool neighborhood: Pinheiros, where Maria was raised.
